Some Transformers thoughts...

I started work on "Transformers: Armada (Revisited)" back in the summer of 2003. That's almost eleven years ago, folks. Armada hadn't even finished, the comics hadn't even converted to Energon, and I was starting on a massive, fifty-two part fanfiction undertaking that would generally make the series more palatable.

Egads things changed.

Basically, when I started, I only had the vaguest, roughest idea of what I was going to do. For all my issues with Energon, it gave me more toys to play with - figuratively and literally - and Cybertron managed to give me what I needed to crystallize the story into its current form. Each passing year, each passing addition to the mythos, I get more to play with.

Seriously, the Dinobots were always gonna be there, but way back at the start, it was just six - Grimlock, Swoop, Sludge, Snarl, Slapper and Triceratron. Skydive came along after the Universe toy was released and I realized one, I never owned the mold (skipped Beast Machines save for the sub-lines), two, he was Dinobot-colored, and three, he had a name that wasn't shared by another character in the storyline. And now, between PCC giving us Grimstone and the next movie giving us more new Dinobots, the roster's just gonna grow.

The Wreckers were always going to be there too. I got into Transformers comics right when the Wreckers were coming into prominence with Dreamwave's run, and I thought, why not have them in the story too? Trouble is, way back when, I didn't know who would be a Wrecker - Ultra Magnus was always going to command them, yes, but for the longest time, I had no clue about who he was going to command. Heck, back in the early days, he was going to be backed by REV and WARS from RiD. Now, however, it's looking like there's going to be three units of Wreckers. We've seen Magnus' Titanic Ten, but I'm not naming names about who's yet to come.

And that's ignoring the Autobot Corps of Engineers, the Autobot Security Forces, the Cybertron Defense Forces, and so on and so forth...

Anyway, fingers crossed I get the story a little further along before the year ends.
